A two-sided debut for BeDriver in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe as they return from Portimão with a twenty-first and a fourth place due to penalties awarded in both Race 1 and Race 2. Results that do not reflect the real potential of the car driven by Alberto Cerqui.
In particular, Race 1 was conditioned by a contact during the first lap that costed Cerqui a drive through penalty that heavily influenced the final result. Similar situation in Race 2, where Alberto was given a 5" penalty at the end of the race, dropping from second to fourth place overall.
In spite of this, the great work done on the car throughout the weekend should be underlined, which allowed to collect valuable information in view of the next stages and, above all, of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, which remains the main objective of BeDriver and Alberto Cerqui.
Alessandro Poli, BeDriver Team Principal: «I am very satisfied with the work done on the car in these days in Portimão and I am looking forward to continuing on the same path in Estoril. The team is close-knit and the car responds in the right way, which is a very good starting point for us. The regret remains for the penalties we were awarded, especially the one in Race 2, which actually cost us a second place, which would have been more than deserved».
Alberto Cerqui, BeDriver driver: «In general it was a positive weekend for me, especially for the great work we were able to do on the car during the days of practice. I immediately found the right feeling with both the team and the car. In addition, I was back at my favourite track and I am very happy about that. Unfortunately, we didn't get the results we deserved because of some penalties that I prefer not to comment on. We will make up for it soon!»
