After Portimão, Estoril also proved to be stingy with satisfaction for BeDriver. In the second stage of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, in fact, Alessandro Poli's team did not manage to go beyond a sixth place in Race 1 and a withdrawal in Race 2 due to an accident (without consequences) that took out Alberto Cerqui's car.
It was a complicated and unfortunate weekend, where it was impossible to put on the track the real performance value of the car. In particular, Race 1 was conditioned by the starting position (P11), which forced Cerqui to make a comeback, eventually ending the race in P6. It was worse in Race 2, where Alberto was hit in the door by another car and thus forced to retire. The driver suffered no physical consequences in the impact.
In spite of this, it must be once again highlighted the great work done on the car over the Estoril weekend, a natural continuation of what we began in Portimão just over a week ago. The data collected will be precious for the development of the car in view of the two remaining stages of the PSCSE (Valencia and Barcelona), as well as for the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, the main objective of BeDriver and Alberto Cerqui for this 2024.
Alessandro Poli, BeDriver Team Principal: «In terms of results, we had a very unlucky weekend at Estoril. Despite this, we were still able to collect more valuable data to study and analyse in order to improve ourselves and the car. We have a lot of work to do, but we are on the right track. Now it is time to put Estoril behind us and concentrate on the next stages of the PSCSE, starting with Valencia».
