PCCI 2025, BeDriver on the podium right away. Klein shines at Misano.

At Misano, the first (and highly anticipated) weekend of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Italy season takes center stage. BeDriver secures its first podium of the season along with a significant haul of points.

Misano, May 5, 2025

With the season opener of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy at the Misano circuit, BeDriver has officially launched a new chapter in its racing history. The team indeed lined up at the starting grid with a a completely renewed livery, a completely new driver lineup compared to the previous season, along with a thoroughly revamped technical and organizational setup.

The strategic decisions made between the end of 2024 and the beginning of the new year are the result of careful internal reflection, with the shared goal of driving a decisive change in technical, sporting, and managerial aspects. The intent was clear from the start: to raise the overall performance level and strengthen the team’s competitiveness in the increasingly fierce environment of the Porsche one-make series.

The first results didn’t take long to show: The team wrapped up the opening weekend with its first podium of the season and a significant haul of points, which allows them to immediately position themselves among the top spots in the overall standings. A strong start that confirms the quality of the work done during the winter and opens up promising prospects for the rest of the season.

Free Practice – Friday

The first official session of the season immediately gave a taste of the intensity that will accompany us throughout 2025: the gaps between the contenders for leadership are minimal, and the battle will be fought down to the hundredths of a second.

Marvin Klein started the weekend with an excellent second-best time, clocking in at 1:35.801. James Wallis finished in fourteenth position with a time of 1:36.482, while Huub van Eijndhoven ended up seventeenth (1:36.579), unable to complete the full session due to a minor technical issue that forced him to stay in the pits during the final phase.

In the Michelin Cup category, Lee Mowle posted the seventh-best class time with 1:38.750, completing a valuable session to get acquainted with the track and the car’s setup.

Qualifying – Saturday

Saturday saw the drivers take to the track for the official qualifying sessions, which were crucial in determining the starting grids for the two races of the weekend. Expectations were high and the margins tight, but our drivers were ready to deliver.

Marvin Klein secured an excellent fourth place in qualifying, confirming himself as one of the weekend’s main contenders. Just behind him, Huub van Eijndhoven claimed eighth position. James Wallis finished in twentieth place after a challenging session, in which he was unable to complete a truly clean lap. In the Michelin Cup, Lee Mowle recorded the seventh fastest time in his category, laying the foundation for a race to be approached with intelligence.

All of this was made possible thanks to the great work carried out by the team, who worked with commitment and dedication between Friday and Saturday — working late into the night — making numerous setup changes to best adapt the cars to the track conditions and the drivers’ needs.

Regarding the starting grid for Race 2, determined by the second-best qualifying time, Klein secured fifth position with a time of 1:35.334. Van Eijndhoven repeated his eighth place (1:35.686), while Wallis confirmed twentieth position (1:36.439). Mowle, consistent in his performance, once again recorded the seventh fastest time in the Michelin Cup (1:38.634).

Race 1 – Sunday

Race 1 saw BeDriver fighting for the podium (which would arrive a few hours later) until the last lap. Klein, fourth at the finish line, in fact, he was hot on the heels of those ahead of him from the first lap, showing off a top-three pace. Unfortunately, the Misano layout guarantees few (if not very few) overtaking opportunities, which is why Marvin had to settle for fourth place.

Huub van Eijndhoven, on the other hand, gained one position compared to qualifying, who finished seventh in a solid and positive race. Great comeback (unfortunately ruined by a 10-second penalty) for James Wallis, fourteenth at the checkered flag but nineteenth following the decisions of the race direction. Seventh position for Lee Mowle, who continues positively in the growth path undertaken this season.

Race 2 – Sunday

Race 2 gave us beautiful emotions, albeit, in some ways, contrasting. Klein had a great race, finishing in second place after a very close duel. At the finish line, the gap from the winner was in fact just 8 thousandths: a breath, a fraction that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, even though it was worth the first podium of the season. An exceptional result, especially since Marvin started from the fifth position on the grid. A round of applause also goes to our other riders, protagonists of solid and courageous performances. Van Ejindhoven showed great consistency and maturity, fighting with great determination in a compact and treacherous group, finishing sixth.

James Wallis was the author of a comeback worthy of a frame: starting from twentieth position, he finished in tenth place, gaining ten positions with high-quality overtaking and impeccable race conduct. A test of character and determination that confirms his potential and his constant growth within the team. Lee Mowle, competing in the Michelin Cup category, kept the team's flag flying with a solid performance, intelligently managing the pressure and finishing fifth.

The Ranking

After the first two rounds, BeDriver occupies the second position in both rankings: Marvin Klein is second among the drivers with 34 points, while in the Constructors' standings we are at 57, just 6 points from the top. Now the focus is on Vallelunga, the theater of Rounds 3 and 4 of a championship that promises to be more hard-fought than ever.
